Our expertise and experience in the field of education is the key strength. The Managing Trustee and Founder, Dr. (Mrs.) Olive Mathews has over 40 years of experience in the field of education.
Dr (Mrs.) O.Mathews is a product of La Martiniere College, Lucknow. She has to her credit, a post graduate degree and a Ph.D. in English Literature as well as two Teachers training (Primary & Secondary). A versatile personality, besides her academic achievements, she has excelled in sports representing UP State in basketball. A trained NCC Officer, she was awarded the Best Cadet of her batch. Her flair for music is well known. Besides being a singer she was conducting the Hutchings School choir and has won accolades for the same. She has to her credit three cassettes which she has produced, directed and sung.
Her first assignment as Principal was that of the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited School, Lucknow for over 8 years. This school under her leadership grew to be a CBSE school i.e. 10 + 2.
In the year 1987 she took over the Hutchings High School, Pune as Principal and Secretary and remained so till the year 2000. During her tenure at Hutuchings High School, the school had shown great deal of improvement in academics, sports, cultural activities and above all in general discipline. As the Principal of Hutchings High School in Pune, the school grew to be a Junior College. The school achieved laurels in academics and extra curricular activities. The results at the ICSE board examinations were excellent and the school was rated among the best in the city. She was at the helm for 14 years.
Dr. (Mrs.) O.Mathews then left to join the Council for Indian School Certificate examination at Delhi as Asst. Secretary, in charge of Examinations. Her expertise is still continuously called upon by the council in the inspections of new Schools and in the conduct of examinations. Dr.(Mrs.) Mathews is ably supported in the running of St. Mathews Academy by her husband Dr. Suresh Mathews and her daughter Mrs. Sheena Pereira.
Dr. Suresh Mathews :
Dr. Suresh Mathews has also over 40 years of experience in the field of education, having served as Reader and Head of the Department of Physical Education at the Lucknow Christian Degree College, Lucknow University. He successfully ran Teacher Training Programmes at the Undergraduate and Post-Graduate levels. He is currently serving on the board of studies of several Universities and is regularly called upon as Examiner to award Undergraduate, Post-Graduate and Ph.D. Degrees.
Mrs. Sheena Pereira :
Mrs. Sheena Pereira is also a product of La Martiniere Girls College, Lucknow having passed the ISC with distinction. This along with spending a lot of time in the swimming pool representing and captaining the UP State team. She not only won laurels at the national level in swimming but was also selected for the Pre - Asian Games camp in Spring board Diving.
Mrs. Pereira completed her BA (Eco) from Fergusson College where she was the Ladies Representative in the year 1991. She is a qualified Management Professional having completed her Post-Graduation in Human Resource Management from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management and has worked with reputed organizations like TELCO. In order to contribute to the family venture known as St. Mathews Academy , she gave up her teaching assignment as full time faculty member at her alma mater, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management.
